I ♥ Faces~ At the Beach

So it's week 29 of I heart faces and my second week entering. I LOVED all the feedback from last weeks contest and now I'm hooked! With the theme being "beach week" I had several options to choose from but I just kept coming back to this one. I know it's a family friendly contest but I felt that this fell within the guidelines....I hope anyway! I can't help myslef from responding to the expression in the subjects face; calm, relaxed, taking in the moment, soaking in the sun. I find myself wishing I could be her, in that place at that time, with the warm salt water rolling around me. Anyway, hope no one is offended and can appreciate why I entered it.
Sometimes we all just need a little reminder to lay back and just take in all the little moments!

Don't forget to head over to their blog to check out all the other great entries! www.iheartfaces.blogspot.com or just click the link below.....Enjoy!

Family Reunion

So this last weekend's shoot was a family reunion/ 80th B-day party for one of the family members. I'm still in the process of editing but this shot just takes my breath away! Adorable little girl~ especially since she hadn't taken a nap all day! I had a great time shooting this family. Especially the kids on the slip-n-slide. Who doesn't remember a summer without one of those?? Priceless!! Anyway, here are just a few of my favorites~

I ♥ Faces - week 28

So this is my 1st entry into the I ♥ Faces phenomenon I've heard so much about:) This weeks theme was "Feet" and when I heard it, this shot immediately came to mind! It's one of my favorites:) It was taken at the very end of a family studio shoot. The little boy's Daddy was holding him, kissing his head, and I went to town! It was such a beautiful display of affection that I know most men try to hide or are uncomfortable showing infront of lights and a lens. Anyway, I think you can still see the sweetness in the shot below. ENJOY!

Life's a Beach~

I've been doing photography for the last 10 years or so and until recently I haven't had the time or energy to put into it to feel proud of my work. It takes a lot out of you to stay at home and take care of your family. It became entirely too easy to put myself in last place on the priority list. However, the kids are getting older and I've finally reached a point where I feel I can really pursue my own talents as well as balance all the rest. My photography has really been put on the back burner for some time now I'm ready to refocus on it yet again.

My plan for this blog is to share my favorite pieces of work on a weekly basis to showcase what I am capable of. I also think it'll be fun to have my favorites in one condensed place for all to see.

So here's to many years of memories provided by me for you! Enjoy!

This first entry is an excellent example of a "private portfolio" listed on my website. My client was looking for professional head shots as well as full frame body shots to use in various business publications as well as in acting and modeling submissions. We did a variety of studio head shots and location shots as well. She was an incredible inspiration to work with! Her knowledge of modeling was minimal to begin with but by the end of the session, she was absolutely killing it!
